Marek Najbrt (b. 1969, Prague) graduated from Charles University’s Faculty of Social Sciences and from the documentary film department of Prague’s Film Academy. In 1991–1998 he wrote and directed a number of ******* and professional audiovisual projects, notably the multimedia productions Balconies (1994) and Seven Dreams Realized (1996-97), staged at Prague’s Archa Theatre. He now primarily directs films, the most prominent of which were the features awarded Czech Lions: Champions (2004), Protector (2009) and Polski Film (2012, screened in the main competition at Karlovy Vary). He is also working on the popular political sitcom “The Blaník Bureau”​ and the series “The World Below.”
